Did you hate your “tween” years as much as I did? As I look back at images of me at that time, I wonder if I actually had shampoo or a hairbrush! I also hadn’t yet grown into my long legs; my cousin used to call me “spaghetti legs!” Thank you, Ralph! This black and white image is of my daughter when she was about 10 years old. It is by far one of my favorite images to date. I can see her sweet soul and innocence in this image every day as it is hanging in my upstairs hallway, and I don't ever want to forget that!
Babies are so adorable. Toddlers have those big, bright eyes and, lets face it, they just do the cutest things that make them even more adorable. But, those tween ages are often forgotten. Between ages 10 to 13, kids aren’t children anymore but aren’t quite teens either. I’m making it my personal mission to capture those lost pre-teen years.
In Comes the “Who I Am” Project
We are starting the “Who I Am” photography project to fill in the forgotten photo years while enriching the lives of pre-teens. The main goal is to make pre-teens look and feel beautiful and be confidant in who they are.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for tweens for our photography project, ages 10-13. We will ask the model and their parents a few questions, and then combine the text and photographs to create impactful pieces of art.
Why “Who I Am”
We want to capture the personality of these tweens and record the last stage of their childhood before they become young women and men. We want them to realize their true beauty so that they are confident in themselves before they enter middle and high school. Imagine the impact a single beautiful image can do for your tween’s self image.
How to Participate or Nominate a Friend
If you are interested in having your child participate in this project or if you would like to refer a friend or family member that you think would be perfect for this, please email us at info@daphnesportraitdesign.com. We are offering an introductory offer of only $25 (future sessions will be $95) for the session itself during the month of February! We do ask for a minimum investment of $300. Our goal is to create gorgeous group of images you’ll love and that truly show your child’s spirit and soul! Many people like to use these images as birthday gifts, Mother’s Day presents, and “just because” surprises for their children. Please only refer people you think would enjoy the boutique portrait experience that we provide. After you contact us, we will send you specific details to decide if this project is perfect for you.
